Admiral Joe Fowler Riverboat - DISNEY THIS DAY - October 2 ,1971

On this day in 1971, the Liberty Square Riverboat opened in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, the day after the park’s grand opening. The boat was named after Joe Fowler, a retired US Navy admiral who oversaw the construction of both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The Admiral Joe Fowler Riverboat would be in service for nearly 10 years!
