On this day in 1990, Disney and Coca-Cola signed a 15-year agreement that made Coke the exclusive soft drink supplier to Disney’s parks, for tie-ins with movies and consumer products, and later on the Disney Cruise Line. Coca-Cola was also given the right to use Disney characters in its marketing. The deal continued long after the 15 years and expanded in the 2000s.
