A Christmas Fantasy Parade Takes Final Bow For Its 29th Season at the Disneyland Resort

A Christmas Fantasy Parade took its final bow for the 2024 Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. The parade, in its 29th year, made its way from Town Square up to it’s a small world on a beautiful and cool evening that was January 6, 2025.

The parade debuted in November 1995. In the years that followed, seeing the parade became a beloved Southern California tradition. A Christmas Fantasy Parade replaced the Very Merry Christmas Parade. Several of the floats from this parade were reused for the current parade.

Through the years, A Christmas Fantasy Parade has evolved quite a bit. Originally, it looked like this:

  • Opening
  • Santa’s Mail Room
  • Santa’s Toy Factory
  • A Recipe for Gingerbread Treats
  • Greetings from a Winter Wonderland
  • The Candlelight Christmas Ball
  • Twas the Night Before Christmas

Nearly three decades later, the parade now has this order:

  • Opening
  • Santa’s Mail Room
  • Welcome to a Winter Wonderland
  • A Recipe for Gingerbread Treats
  • Candlelight Christmas Ball
  • Santa’s Toyland
  • Santa’s Finale

During the first year, the parade was announced by Jack Wagner. Ever since then, the parade has had Bill Rogers announce its arrival. Characters in the parade have changed through the years. For a while, Max and Goofy shared the Gingerbread House float with Max up on the roof. Now, it is Pluto and Goofy. For several years, there was a section of the parade with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore going sledding as well. Scrooge McDuck, Roger Rabbit, and characters from Lily & Stitch, Aladdin, Mulan, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame have also appeared in the parade through the years. This year saw the Toy Factory float removed with just Buzz and Woody on floats made of play building blocks and elves dancing around them. Jessie also rides in a small jeep with a Green Army Man. This is followed by Santa’s Finale.

Daps Magic was on hand to film the finale performance for the season of A Christmas Fantasy Parade. Below is a look at this parade on this beautiful evening:
