A new trailer for what is being billed as season two of Doctor Who was released on Christmas Day. The trailer shows the Doctor up against new foes and with a new companion, who clearly wants to be taken home. It also shows some familiar faces from season one of this new Doctor Who. The Doctor says, “There are forces beyond this universe… It’s all a game to them.” It isn’t a game for the Doctor, however. Check out the teaser below.
Doctor Who Returns in 2025… | Season 2 Teaser
Doctor Who first premiered on BBC One on November 23, 1963. It ran for 26 seasons until its initial cancellation in 1989. The show was originally conceived as an educational program for families, blending historical narratives with science fiction elements. Over time, the sci-fi aspects became more prominent, featuring iconic monsters like the Daleks and Cybermen. After a 16-year hiatus, which included a 1996 television movie, Doctor Who returned to British screens in 2005 with a renewed focus and modern special effects, captivating a new generation of viewers while still honoring its long history. It has continued on since then and now is broadcast around the world on Disney+ and in the UK, the BBC is the official home for the series.
A new special for Doctor Who was released on Disney+ on Christmas Day. It was called Joy to the Worlds. This came after the first season of the current iteration was released earlier this year.
