The Disneyland Resort celebrated the 96th birthday of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse with a cavalcade along the parade route. The cavalcade continues a tradition of honoring these two beloved characters in this fashion in recent years.
The birthday cavalcade included Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse aboard the Main Street Fire Truck with longtime cast member Steve at the wheel. They were accompanied by many other Disney characters, the Disneyland Band, Dapper Dans, and other performers. Throughout the parade route, they made stops to sing Happy Birthday to Mickey and Minnie. Each time the song was sung, it ended with confetti being shot into the air. Then, the cavalcade would continue on. It was a short and sweet way to honor their birthday. Below is video that the Daps Magic team took of the cavalcade:
Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Birthday 96th Cavalcade
Mickey and Minnie first appeared in 1928’s Steamboat Willie. Since then, Mickey and Minnie have been delighting fans and bringing smiles to faces around the world. Nearly 100 years after they were first introduced, both of these mice continue to be as popular as ever. And that is how it should be. After all, as Walt Disney once said, “I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing – that it was all stared by a mouse.”
