On this day in 2004, ‘Finding Neverland’ was released by Miramax Films, then a subsidiary of Disney. It told the story of how author J. M. Barrie was inspired to write ‘Peter Pan’ by his friendship with the Llewelyn Davies family. The film was based on the 1998 play, ‘The Man Who Was Peter Pan’ by Allan Knee. ‘Finding Neverland’ was released 100 years after Barrie’s original 1904 stage play debuted.
