Walt Disney World Resort continues to monitor the path and potential impact of Hurricane Milton. Earlier today, the storm became a Category 5 hurricane. As it continues to steam toward the Florida coast, Disney has decided to close a couple of its accommodations that could be more impacted by the weather.

An announcement on the Walt Disney World Resort website shared that Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground (including dining and recreation locations), the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will be temporarily closed due to Hurricane Milton. These locations will begin to close at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. At this point, it is expected that Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will remain closed until Sunday, October 13, 2024. The Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are aiming to reopen on Friday, October 11, 2024.

The following update was shared on the Walt Disney World Resort website:

For those who are staying at Walt Disney World Resort during Hurricane Milton, please heed the directions of Disney cast members and other officials. Safety is the utmost priority of Disney and part of the way to keep both guests and cast members safe is by following directions and being part of the solution and not adding another problem.
