The Disney Adventure arrived at its home port in Singapore earlier this week. Following its arrival, the Disney Cruise Line celebrated this beautiful new ship joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet and christened it. This was done during a star-studded event that took place in the Walt Disney Theatre aboard the ship. This event used music and magic to celebrate favorite Disney stories, characters, and music that come to life onboard this ship. The artistic beauty of this christening ceremony highlighted Disney’s first-ever ship to sail and be home-ported in Southeast Asia.
Christening Ceremony
During the christening ceremony, guests were treated to the magic of Disney storytelling. It came to life through regional vocalists and musicians, stunning video effects, and star-studded surprises. This included special appearances by Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse. There was also a 23-piece orchestra, Hollywood Performing Arts Hall of Fame inductee Jed Madela, and international recording artists of Eurovision fame Dami Im. Together, they took the special guests on a magical show that went through classic Disney, Pixar, and Marvel melodies that were coupled with stunning visuals that came to life on screens that surrounded the stage and appeared to engulf the audience.
Disney Leaders
On hand from The Walt Disney Company was the Chairman of Disney Experiences and incoming Chief Executive Officer, Josh D’Amaro. He was joined by the President of Disney Signature Experiences, Joe Schott. Together, they joined the artists to mark the historic moment.

It offers fans across this region an opportunity to immerse themselves in unforgettable ways and create memories that are uniquely Disney.”
A Thunderous Moment
Robert Downey Jr., the Godfather of the Disney Adventure, was also on hand for the ceremonial blessing of the good fortune for the ship and all who travel aboard it.
“I’ve had the privilege of getting to know the team at Walt Disney Imagineering, and I can tell you Adventure is the perfect name for what they’ve created,” he said. “Being the Godparent of this majestic vessel is an honor, and I have some serious duties to perform, so let’s make it official, shall we?” 
Downey Jr. cued the orchestra and appropriately said, “Downey Jr. cued the orchestra, saying, “You bring the theme and I’ll bring the thunder,” followed by the official blessing, “I christen thee, Disney Adventure, may God bless this ship and all who sail upon her.”
The climax of the Christening Ceremony saw Disney characters appearing in a celebratory performance of Let’s Set Sail, a Disney Cruise Line tradition that builds excitement for the journeys that are on the horizon aboard the Disney Adventure.
Disney Adventure
The Disney Adventure is the eighth ship to join the Disney Cruise Line Fleet. It is the largest ship to date. Its maiden voyage sets sail on March 10th. Guests who board this beautiful new ship will get to experience stories from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel. Throughout the ship, guests will find incredible experiences and favorite characters. The ship itself is made up of seven distinct areas. These are inspired by the stories of Disney, Pixar, and Marvel. The areas include:

- Disney Discovery Reef
- San Fransokyo Street
- Wayfinder Bay
- Town Square
- Marvel Landing
- Toy Story Place
Throughout the ship, guests will see a wide range of Disney stories coming to life. These include Big Hero 6, Toy Story, Moana, multiple Disney Princess stories, and more! They can also enjoy the brand-new Broadway-style musical, Remember, immersive dining experiences, signature fireworks at sea, clubs for kids of all ages, bars and lounges for adults, and thrilling attractions. This includes Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever roller coaster at Sea, the Ironcycle Test Run.
The arrival of the Disney Adventure in the Disney Cruise Line fleet is part of a multi-year expansion of the fleet. Currently their are eight ships. Five more ships will join the fleet by 2031. The Disney Adventure will be offering three-and four-night itineraries at sea throughout its inaugural season.
