Part of Tomorrowland Closed After Backstage Incident at Disneyland

An incident today at Disneyland in Tomorrowland led to the closure of part of Tomorrowland. This included the closure of Space Mountain, Star Tours, and the Star Trader. The incident led to Anaheim Fire & Rescue being dispatched to Disneyland.

Disneyland officials said that building materials that were being used by a contractor backstage produced a reaction. This led to the area backstage in Tomorrowland being examined by appropriate response teams. There were cast members on-site who were treated by paramedics and released. Disney also said that seven cast members who were experiencing dizziness and shortness of breath were transported to local hospitals.

Safety is always a paramount objective for Disney, and out of an abundance of caution, the adjacent onstage areas to the incident were cleared of guests. They are expected to reopen soon. Other than being cleared from the area, no guests were involved in this incident.

Be sure to check the Disneyland App to see when the area and its attractions and store reopen later today, once it has been deemed completely safe by officials.
