On Thursday, March 26, 2026, fans went bananas for two teams that visited The Happiest Place on Earth! This was for Savannah Bananas Day at the Disneyland Resort. This celebration of the Banana Ball Championship League featured the Savannah Bananas and Indianapolis Clowns, who performed, surprised, and, most importantly, made people smile with “The Greatest Show in Sports.” Fans turned out in droves to see the two teams and packed both parks as they tried to see the two teams.
There were multiple opportunities to see the players throughout the day. Some of these were scheduled, and some were surprise moments that delighted guests at the Disneyland Resort. There was also merchandise for sale in the Downtown Disney District throughout the day. On top of that, some people even got to meet some of the players via a virtual queue.
Sleeping Beauty Castle Performance
The first scheduled moment of the day was a performance at Sleeping Beauty Castle. This saw the Savannah Bananas and Indianapolis Clowns joined by Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Clarabelle Cow, and Goofy in front of this iconic location. Thousands of fans showed up for this moment that was full of happiness and energy. The performance itself included singing, dancing, and other tricks and flips. It also included the Hey Baby song that was so popular last year. This wasn’t the only song, however. There were several others during this upbeat performance. One of them was When You Wish Upon a Star. This performance was electric and a whole lot of fun for everyone who was there. It looked like it for the players/performers as well!
Interviews
Following the performance, Daps Magic had the chance to interview several of the Savannah Bananas. Danny Hosley shared how both the Bananas and Disney have a “fan first mentality” when asked about how the two are similar.
Owner Jesse Cole shared about the similarities between Walt Disney pursuing his dream and how they built Banana Ball. This was based on a profound belief in something, despite what other people said. They were down to their last dollar and sleeping on an air bed, he recalled, but they “believed in joy and bringing people together and doing things for the right reason, not about money, but doing things that really matter for people. And that’s what Walt believed in.” He also shared how he couldn’t imagine something better coming together than The Happiest Place on Earth and The Greatest Show in Sports. All of this was as thousands of fans shouted and screamed for attention.
Kelsie Whitmore, the pitcher for the Savannah Bananas, also happens to be the first overall pick in the inaugural Women’s Pro Baseball League draft in 2025. Baseball has been a lifelong passion for her. She shared how she grew up playing baseball all over and eventually got to play it professionally. She shared that getting to play at Disneyland was a “blessing.” “It’s interesting cuz I used to come here and ride rides and come here with my friends and to watch the show. Now I’m here as the show, which is crazy to think about, but it’s all really cool,” she said. She also shared how Banana Ball is a combination of professional athletics and entertainment. “The combination of that is very unique, and I wish people would understand that when it comes to Banana Ball.”
Savannah Bananas Cavalcade
As the day continued, both teams participated in a cavalcade that made its way down the parade route at Disneyland. The cavalcade was full of energy, antics, and music as players made their way through the park. Many of them were on some of the Main Street vehicles. Daps Magic watched this from a vantage point near Christmas Tree Point at the end of Main Street, U.S.A.
Savannah Bananas Disney California Adventure Performance
The final performance of the day was a first for the Savannah Bananas. They performed in front of Paradise Bay in Disney California Adventure. This was the first time that the team performed at Disney California Adventure. This performance had some incredible moments that were performed in front of a massive crowd, with a sea of yellow as far as the eye could see! This performance included:
- Shut Up and Dance
- Right Above It
- Beat It
- Shipping Up to Boston
Meeting the Players
Following the performance, players met with fans who had joined a virtual queue earlier in the day. Throughout the rest of the day, people could be seen wearing yellow throughout The Happiest Place on Earth! They also enjoyed the themed foods from the day, shopped at the pop-up in Downtown Disney District, and overall had a grand old time.
More Banana Ball
The Savannah Bananas and Indianapolis Clowns will be playing to sold-out crowds this weekend at Angel Stadium. This year, Banana Ball can also be seen on the ESPN App and Disney+, with every game streamed. Select games will be airing across ESPN networks and ABC.
