A new movie in the Zombies franchise is on the way. ZOMBIES 5 has been given a greenlight for the film to be made for Disney+ and Disney Channel. Malachi Barton and Freya Skye are set to return to their breakout roles as Victor and Nova. Franchise stars Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly return to executive produce, while Trevor Tordjman returns as Bucky, the beloved cheer captain and cousin of Addison from the original trilogy. The film go into production this spring in New Zealand with a name to be announced at a later date.
Zombies 5 will follow the events of ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires. The newfound peace between the Daywalkers and Vampires will be put to the test with the arrival of fierce mermaids in Rayburn. They make waves and cast a persuasive siren song in an effort to lure in new allies. Nova and Victor must unite their groups again to discover what the mermaids are really after and also to protect the fragile harmony that was so difficult to make.

There will be several returning cast members for this film. This includes Malachi Barton as Victor, Freya Skye as Nova, Swayam Bhatia as Vera, Julian Lerner as Ray, and Mekonnen Knife as Vargas from ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires. There will also be new cast members, including a trio of mysterious mermaids: Diaana Babnicova as cool-girl Pearl, Taylor Oliver as bad-boy Fin, and Olive Mortimer as tech-wiz Sandy. Emily Costtrici will also be joining the cast as zombie Izzy, Zed’s cound and a new transfer student.
DGA Award-winner Paul Hoen, director and executive producer of the entire ZOMBIES franchise, will be returning for this latest installment. He will be joined by executive producers Jane Fleming, Mark Ordesky, Joseph Raso, David Light, and producer Skot Bright, alongside Manheim and Donnelly. The movie will feature next-level dance sequences that are choreographed by Dondraico Johnson. The original score will be composed by Tom Howe. Chris Hazzard, Michael Fontana, and Eydie Faye will be joining the creative team as writers.
