Zootopia 2 - Mr. Daps' Review

Zootopia 2 – Mr. Daps’ Home Entertainment Review

Zootopia 2 is the biggest animated film to come out of Hollywood ever. This film, which picks up right after the events of Zootopia, not only continues to build on the story of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, but it also builds on the world and lore of the Zootopia metropolis. This film is now available for digital download and is also in theaters currently as well. In this second film, Judy and Nick find themselves tracking a fugitive snake. Along the way, they find themselves wondering who the good guys are and who the bad.

Quality

Watching Zootopia 2 is a very enjoyable experience. It looks beautiful. It sounds wonderful. It continues to build on the world that was created a decade ago. The colors are vibrant, and the animation is crisp. It is visually pleasing to watch and also feels realistic. The accompanying audio helps build the world that is being shown and makes for an immersive experience when enjoying the film.

Extras

The extras that accompany Zootopia 2 are absolutely wonderful. It was a very pleasant surprise to see so much care put into the bonus features. There were also more than I was expecting. They help add depth to the film, and I found them all enjoyable. My favorite was The Zookeepers, which is basically a look at the making of the film. I also really enjoyed the Wilde Times in the Booth. With this release, I enjoyed all of the bonus features. I was thankful there wasn’t a blooper reel as everything else was solid.

Final Thoughts

Zootopia 2 is a surprisingly enjoyable film. I liked the first film, but I am always a little skeptical when it comes to sequels. However, this time around, I think I liked the sequel better than the original. You do need to see the original for this to work, though. This film is full of heart, has good messages, is funny at times, and is completely enjoyable. If this is setting the trend for what Walt Disney Animation Studios is going to be like under the leadership of Jared Bush, there are exciting things ahead. Couple this solid film with a solid set of bonus features, and this is a really good release. I take my hat off to this. It is one I really think every Disney fan should have in their library! It was a joy to review!
