A new McDonald’s has opened in the Disney Village at Disneyland Paris. This new location reveals McDonald’s most advanced solutions in terms of service, products, and sustainable construction. It is a combination of Disney magic and McDonald’s ingenuity. It is designed to offer families an immersive, seamless and memorable experience when they visit. The opening comes ahead of the official opening of World of Frozen and the rebranding of Walt Disney Studios to Disney Adventure World in March.
“The opening of a McDonald’s restaurant is always a significant moment for our employees, customers, and partners.” But today, we are reaching a new milestone with this restaurant, which showcases all our expertise in France. Our 220 employees are eager to welcome families and visitors from around the world and offer them unforgettable memories in this world of pure enjoyment. I would like to thank the Disney Village® teams for this exciting collaboration on a truly unique project,” says Jo Sempels, President and CEO of McDonald’s France.
Disney shared that the opening of this restaurant strengthens the collaboration between Disney Village and McDonald’s in a location that emphasizes performance, hospitality, and fun for all, in an environment designed to welcome every generation.
“Since 1999, Disneyland Paris and McDonald’s have built a relationship grounded in trust and a shared vision of the guest experience. Disneyland Paris shared the following details about this new McDonald’s location:
Innovative architecture for an exceptional experience
Twenty-seven years after the opening of the first McDonald’s restaurant in Disney Village®, the site is reborn as an ultramodern building, erected according to the highest standards in sustainable construction.
The result of over five years of design and construction, and an investment of more than €20 million, this project had a clear ambition: to offer visitors—and especially families—a high-quality and spectacular experience.
It has given rise to a truly unique restaurant distinguished by:
- 3 floors,
- 600 seats, including 200 on outdoor terraces,
- a panoramic elevator,
- 23 self-service kiosks,
- unprecedented service capacity, thanks to a dual kitchen and 5 dumbwaiters distributed across the different floors,
- 210 employees, representing 16 languages, ready to welcome visitors from all over the world.
A haven of hospitality and service designed to delight guests of all ages
From the initial design phase, the goal was clear: to make this restaurant the go-to destination for families in Disney Village®, thanks to an experience that is both intuitive and optimized. Visitors will discover:
- a spacious and bright reception area, designed to streamline the ordering process,
- personalized service provided by multilingual staff,
- an elegant McCafé for a delicious break,
- and the brand’s state-of-the-art services:
- table ordering via QR code,
- table service via geolocation,
- made-to-order for all recipes.
Younger guests can enjoy a spectacular three-story indoor play area, designed to extend the magic of Disney Village® and offer an unforgettable family experience.
The result of close collaboration with the Disneyland® Paris teams, the restaurant’s design blends architectural concepts developed by McDonald’s in France with decorative elements inspired by Disney’s beloved stories, creating a truly unique space.
A restaurant that boosts employment and supports French agriculture
Like every McDonald’s restaurant, this new establishment exemplifies the brand’s contributions in France, particularly its support for French agriculture: 75% of its raw materials come from French producers across the five main sectors (beef, chicken, wheat, potatoes, and lettuce).
In terms of employment, the opening directly contributes to the local economy: 50 new hires have joined the existing team of 160 employees from the previous restaurant, bringing the total to 220, all on permanent contracts.
Additional recruitment may also be needed to meet peak periods.
A design and construction approach focused on environmental impact
Designed to address current environmental challenges, this restaurant incorporates several energy sources, materials, and landscaping features from the earliest stages of the project:
- “Positive Energy & Carbon Reduction” Building,
- Targeted Certification: BREEAM New Construction – Excellent Level,
- Compliance with RE2020 regulations,
- 250 m² of solar panels,
- 350 m² of green space (roof + planters),
- a 120 m² living wall promoting biodiversity and pollination.
