A new episode of Imagineer That! has arrived on the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel. In this episode, Tom Morrow 2.0 gets asked the following question: “How do the Imagineers keep the lions away from the rhinos?!” This is in reference to two of the animals that guests often see when they experience the Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. How do the Imagineers keep the lions away from the rhinos?!
As can be seen in the episode above, the simple answer to this is that these two animals are kept apart through the creation and subsequent placement of natural barriers, including rock formations and moats. Animals that can roam freely are encouraged to move towards specific areas with food placed in specific places with treat stations.
