As runners make their last-minute preparations for this weekend of events, Disney has released information about this year’s events, and also details about when registration will open for events into 2027. The 2025–26 runDisney season is in full stride with the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by State Farm next week. Soon, runners will be chasing medals, snapping selfies, and experiencing the extra magic only runDisney can bring to every mile.

And just when you thought the excitement around here couldn’t get any bigger… drumroll, please! The 2026–27 runDisney event calendar and registration dates have arrived! New year, new themes, fresh challenges and more chances to earn those uniquely Disney medals. Beloved race weekends are back at Walt Disney World Resort, plus there are three virtual events — including a brand-new virtual race theme — for anyone who wants to rack up miles closer to home.

Say hello to the newest race joining the lineup this season: 2026 runDisney Virtual Spooktacular, happening October 1-31. Registration opens on August 11. This virtual event offers an excellent opportunity to celebrate Spooky season while continuing your fitness goals.

What I love about this new race (and all the runDisney virtual events) is how easy and fun it is. You pick your route. You pick your pace. You pick the day. Fit it in around your schedule, your way.
