Avatar: Fire and Ash continues to lead the box office. This film has been leading for five weeks since being released. The film has earned $363 million domestically to date. Globally, it has pulled in $1.3 billion.
The film isn’t showing the same resilience at the box office as its predecessors. It is already showing signs of running out of steam, meaning it probably won’t reach the levels seen by the first two films. Avatar earned $2.9 billion at the box office during its run. Avatar: The Way of Water earned $2.3 billion.
Fire and Ash is also surprisingly being beaten out by Zootopia 2 from Walt Disney Animation Studios. Also still in theaters, it has already earned $1.7 billion to date. It has also become the highest-grossing MPA animated film of all time.
