On this day in 1925, acclaimed songwriter, painter, and Disney Legend Robert B. Sherman was born. He and his younger brother Richard formed one of the most prolific and memorable songwriting teams in Disney history. Robert joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and was part of a squad that liberated the Dachau concentration camp in 1945. He gained a great love of England during his military service and moved across the pond in 2002 – fitting for the writer of “It’s a Small World!” [100 years ago in 2025]
