Production has wrapped on Star Wars: Starfighter. Director Shawn Levy shared the news with a post on Instagram. The film is set to arrive in theaters on May 28, 2026. Here is the post that shared the news:
Star Wars: Starfighter stars Ryan Gosling. He is joined by an incredible cast that includes Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams. The film takes place five years after the events of Star Wars: The Last Skywalker. It is a stand-alone film and has a script written by Jonathan Tropper. It will feature a soundtrack written by Thomas Newman.
The film went into production in August. At the time, Shawn Levy shared his thoughts about this film and being a part of the Star Wars universe. “I feel a profound sense of excitement and honor as we begin production on Star Wars: Starfighter,” Levy said. “From the day Kathy Kennedy called me up, inviting me to develop an original adventure in this incredible Star Wars galaxy, this experience has been a dream come true, creatively and personally. Star Wars shaped my sense of what story can do, how characters and cinematic moments can live with us forever. To join this storytelling galaxy with such brilliant collaborators onscreen and off, is the thrill of a lifetime.”
