‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Surpasses $500 Million at Global Box Office on Christmas

Avatar: Fire and Ash continues to light up the box office. On Christmas, the newest film in Disney Legend James Cameron’s Avatar franchise surpassed half a billion dollars at the global box office. It earned $24 million on Christmas Day alone domestically. This now brings the film’s total earnings to $153.6 million domestically and $390.6 million internationally. Globally, it is now sitting at over $544 million.

The film looks to keep going strong at the box office. Experts are predicting that the film will earn north of $75 million this coming weekend. While this is slightly lower than the numbers of its predecessor, Avatar: The Way of Water, it is still expected to have a strong run as the year wraps up.

With “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” James Cameron takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and the Sully family.

The film, which has a screenplay by James Cameron & Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and a story by James Cameron & Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver & Josh Friedman & Shane Salerno, also stars Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, David Thewlis, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi, Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Brendan Cowell, Bailey Bass, Filip Geljo, Duane Evans, Jr., and Kate Winslet.
