The Disney Destiny is packed full of experiences that are inspired by the stories of Disney villains and heroes from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel. One of these is the classic Disney animated film, The Lion King. In Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, cruisers don’t just get to experience an immersive recreation of this musical story. They get to experience this story while dining on some incredible food!

The Disney Cruise Line shared a look at what it is like to experience Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King. Take a look at what can be experienced below!

When stepping into the Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, guests get to experience something exclusive to the Disney Destiny. They walk enter the restaurant and are transported into the African savannah as they walk down the hall and into the main dining area. This is a stylized version of Boma, a place for families and communities to gather to eat, sing, and tell stories.

Around the dining area, there are depictions of animals and nature that are realized through lighting and special effects. There is a wall of magical windows that display a rotation of vibrant sunrises and sunsets throughout the meal. This is reminiscent of the animated artwork originally seen in the animated classic. The center of the restaurant has risers that mimic the look of African drums and also serve as the stage for the performances throughout the experience.

This dining experience does include a show. The story of The Lion King is brought to life by a colorful ensemble of live musicians and storytellers. Throughout the meal, during special intervals, the band and performers revisit favorite songs using authentic African instruments and theatrical props to represent the story and characters.

The set list includes:

  • Productions of Circle of Life and Hakuna Matata.
  • A mash-up of I Just Can’t Wait to Be King and Be Prepared, a fun take that highlights the hero-villain dynamic of the story.
  • An instrumental version of Can You Feel the Love Tonight paired with a beautiful interpretive dance.
  • A moving rendition of He Lives in You from the sequel film and Broadway show.

The menu for Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King has a wide range of flavors of African cuisines that have some creative spins on Disney Cruise Line guest-favorite foods. The culinary team utilizes authentic spice blends, regional sauces, and customary grains and produce to create magic on plates for families to enjoy. This restaurant also offers a second themed menu for five-night sailing and guests who have an additional dinner seating there.
