On this day in 2006, High School Musical: The Concert began a six-month concert tour across North America, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Venezuela, and Mexico. Original ‘High School Musical’ franchise cast members Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman participated in the tour. Only Zac Efron was absent due to his filming schedule for ‘Hairspray.’ A concert album and video of the tour, recorded in Houston, Texas, were released in 2007.
