On this day in 1960, the seasonal comic strip ‘Disney Christmas Story’ first appeared in newspapers across the United States. The annual holiday serial was initially created by Frank Reilly. The story ran Monday through Saturday during the four weeks leading up to Christmas Eve and was hidden somewhere in the paper. Each year until 1987 had a different theme and often combined characters from multiple Disney properties. The first year’s tale was entitled “Peter Pan’s Christmas Story.” [65 years ago in 2025]
