A Christmas Fantasy Parade

A Christmas Fantasy Parade Makes Season Debut at Disneyland During Break in the Rain

The Holidays at the Disneyland Resort have officially begun. This merry time of year sees plenty of seasonal entertainment, merchandise, food and beverage offerings, and beautiful decorations. This year, the arrival of the holidays came with a weekend of rain. On both Friday and Saturday, the rain came down on and around the Disneyland Resort. This led to the presentation of Mickey’s Holiday Cavalcade, a rainy-day cavalcade that is themed to the season.

On Sunday, the day started again with rain. It brought the performances of the day’s A Christmas Fantasy Parade into doubt. However, the afternoon led to better weather and the possibility of a parade. This possibility began to turn into a reality as fans eagerly waited along the parade route, and the ground remained dry. Finally, 3:00 PM arrived, and the bells that rang at the beginning of the parade could be heard. Soon, the waiting crowds were enjoying the magic of this parade that is celebrating its 30th anniversary and 30th season (thanks to the year the park was closed). People cheered as toy soldiers marched by, Mickey and Minnie waved, snowflakes skated, and Santa Claus came to town. The Daps Magic team was on hand for this first parade of the season. Take a look at it here:

A Christmas Fantasy Parade opened at Disneyland on November 28, 1995. It replaced the Very Merry Christmas Parade. When the weather allows, A Christmas Fantasy Parade is offered at 3:00 PM and 5:15 PM throughout the holiday season. Be sure to check the Disneyland app to confirm showtimes. If it is raining, don’t be surprised if Mickey’s Holiday Cavalcade is presented instead. With the possibility of rain still in the forecast, this rainy-day cavalcade will likely be making more appearances.
