On this day in 1995, “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” debuted at Disneyland on Thanksgiving Day. It replaced the “Very Merry Christmas Parade” that ran in the 1970s and ‘80s. The parade has seen many changes over the years, but it is still a joyous part of Disneyland’s annual holiday traditions. “A Christmas Fantasy” currently features seven units with 113 characters, including fifteen elves, twelve toy soldiers, eight reindeer, eight snowmen, and four gingerbread cookies!
