25 years ago, Walt Disney Animation Studios released The Emperor’s New Groove. Now, this beloved comedy is getting a release that will see it look and sound better than ever. As part of the celebration of this milestone and the new 4K format, the film will be shown at the El Capitan Theatre from November 21-24, 2025. It will then be released on digital platforms (Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home) and on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on December 9th. This release will allow families to laugh once again as they watch this hilarious film. They could even do this over soup, light salad, or a tray of Kronk’s signature spinach puffs.

The love for The Emperor’s New Groove has been ongoing this year. Recently, at Destination D23 – A Journey Around the Worlds of Disney, a special party was hosted at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon called Kuzcotopia. There, fans could see some of their favorite characters from this film, while also enjoying the many other offerings at the water park.

Emperor Kuzco (David Spade) thought he had it all: a devoted populace to rule over, a wardrobe of glamorous garb and his unwavering “groove.” But his world is flipped upside down when he’s turned into a llama by his devious adviser Yzma (Eartha Kitt), and her hunky henchman Kronk (Patrick Warburton). Now the once-mighty ruler is forced into an unlikely alliance with pleasant peasant Pacha (John Goodman). Together, they must overcome their differences as they embark on a groovy adventure. Discovering the good in everyone has never been so much fun!
