Camp Snoopy Opening - Knott's Berry Farm 2024

Peanuts to Remain at Knott’s Berry Farm as Licensing Agreement is Extended

The Peanuts will be remaining at Knott’s Berry Farm for at least another 5 years. Six Flags, the parent company of Knott’s Berry Farm, has extended the licensing agreement with Peanuts Worldwide through 2030. This will see Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts remaining in some of the Six Flags theme parks.

“We are proud to extend our long-standing partnership with Peanuts, which has delivered so many fun and cherished memories to our guests,” said Christian Dieckmann, Six Flags chief commercial officer. “Both of our brands are built on bringing families together and creating one-of-a-kind experiences and emotional connections. The renewed relationship between Six Flags and Peanuts Worldwide will enable both companies to enhance and extend their brands through themed areas, live entertainment, merchandise and games.”

This extended licensing agreement gives Six Flags the exclusive theme park rights for Peanuts in North America. It includes in-park entertainment and sports, food and beverage, retail operations, and exclusive Peanuts merchandise. This deal will keep the Peanuts in the following legacy Cedar Fair parks:

  • Knott’s Berry Farm
  • Carowinds
  • Cedar Point
  • Kings Island
  • Kings Dominion
  • Dorney Park
  • Canada’s Wonderland
  • Great America
  • Michigan Adventure
  • Valley Fair
  • Worlds of Fun

“It’s been exciting to see how the legacy Cedar Fair parks have introduced our beloved Peanuts characters to new generations of kids over the years, and this renewed partnership with Six Flags will ensure we expand those connections in authentic and meaningful ways,” said Tim Erickson, executive vice president for Peanuts Worldwide.

The partnership between the theme park company and Peanuts dates back to the 1980s. It was then that Knott’s Berry Farm opened the first Camp Snoopy. In the decades that followed, Cedar Fair parks continued to introduce Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts gang to guests of all ages.

Knott’s Berry Farm continues to connect with the legacy of Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz. Each year, Knott’s Berry Farm hosts its Knott’s Peanuts Celebration. The Peanuts also help celebrate other holidays throughout the year at Knott’s Berry Farm. Last year, Knott’s Berry Farm unveiled a reimagined Camp Snoopy.
