Walt’s Barn is hosting author Michael Campbell on August 17. The author of Walt Disney’s Trains: A Grand Circle Tour Through His Life and Legacy will be on hand to sign the book, which will also be on sale. Campbell has a long history with Walt’s Barn, and his return will be a welcome one. Below is the information about this special day.

The Carolwood Foundation will welcome author Michael Campbell for a special book signing during our public day on Sunday, August 17. Copies of the new book Walt Disney’s Trains: A Grand Circle Tour Through His Life and Legacy will be available for purchase. Michael Campbell has been a friend of the Carolwood Foundation for many years. His work on exhibits for the California State Railroad Museum, the Napa Valley Museum, Disneyland, and the memorable 2014 Walt Disney Family Museum exhibit All Aboard: A Celebration of Walt’s Trains are just a part of the work he has done prior to creating this book.
During your visit you are invited to tour Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn, Walt’s original home workshop and the birthplace of Imagineering. Displays include treasures from the backyard railroads of Walt Disney, Ward Kimball and Ollie Johnston, as well as an operating model of Disneyland’s classic Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland attraction.
Also on the property are the restored Santa Fe and Disneyland Railroad combine car and Ollie Johnston’s backyard La Canada Valley Railroad depot.
At 2:30pm you are invited to join us for our formal flag retreat ceremony to signal the close of our operating day.
The Carolwood Foundation is open to the public the third Sunday of each month from 11am to 3pm. Reservations and tickets are not required to visit Walt’s Barn and associated displays at this time. Parking is free and available on a first come, first served basis.
Additional details regarding guests or events will be updated as they are available. Follow us here, or on Instagram for updates: @waltsbarn.
