Nightmare Before Christmas Display at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

Jack Skellington Takes Over Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

Jack Skellington has taken over Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. Guests venturing into the Great Hall at the hotel will find two displays that bring the world of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas to life. One of the displays brings the scene with Jack and Sally on Spiral Hill to life. It can be seen here:

This display was accompanied by a sign that said:

Spiral Hill Confectionary

Over the course of 800 hours, our talented pastry team brought to life a creation fit for the Pumpkin King, himself, crafted from:

140 pounds of fondant
175 pounds of chocolate
150 pounds of powdered sugar
38 pounds of marshmallows

The second display was not made of fancy confections. Instead, it was a recreation of what Jack Skellington’s workshop would look like as he worked on his Christmas formula. This includes potions, books, and a chalkboard for Jack to work with and figure out Christmas.

All of the photos and videos of these new displays were taken by Daps Magic team member Steven on the opening day of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. They will be available to be seen through October 31st for visitors who want to check out these beautiful displays. Jack Skellington has also transformed the Haunted Mansion into Haunted Mansion Holiday and taken over the skies of Disneyland on select nights for Halloween Screams! On top of that, he has debuted a new look for when he meets with guests at Disneyland.
