Disney’s ‘Lilo & Stitch’ to Debut on Disney+ in September

Disney’s live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch is heading to Disney+ in September. The billion-dollar box office hit, which is currently available for digital download, will arrive on Disney’s streaming service on September 3, 2025.

Lilo & Stitch recently crossed the $1 billion mark globally at the box office. It is the first Motion Picture Association (MPA) title of 2025 to reach this milestone. The film started off strong with a record-breaking $183 million Memorial Day weekend debut. It has continued on to become the year’s top-grossing MPA release both worldwide and internationally.

This new version of Lilo & Stitch brings new energy that builds on the already hilarious and heart-warming tale of Lilo and her “dog” Stitch. The film was filmed in Hawai’i, mostly by Hawai’ians. This provides a beautiful and warm environment that matches the “found family” that Lilo and Stitch create together. This also authentically honors the culture and beauty of Hawai’i. The film is directed by Oscar-nominated Dean Fleischer Camp. It stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, with Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis. Maia Kealoha makes her debut in the film.

The original Lilo & Stitch can already be watched on Disney+, as can the rest of the Lilo & Stitch franchise. The franchise already has over 640 million hours streamed globally. And if that isn’t enough, a sequel is currently in development!
