When the Disney Destiny takes to sea later this year, fans will get to see Disney Hercules take to the stage. This Broadway-style musical brings the classic animated feature to the stage aboard one of two new ships joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet this year. Ahead of the maiden voyage of the Disney Destiny in November, Walt Disney Imagineering has revealed a first look at some of the massive puppets that will be utilized in this show.
The puppets that were shown are billed as “larger than life.” A quick look at the video that was shared by Imagineering shows just how massive these puppets are! These are what will bring the Titans to life in the musical. In the video, Disney Live Entertainment Executive Creative Director Michael Serna shares about these incredible puppets that were made by Walt Disney Imagineering and Michael Curry. Fans may recognize Michael Curry as the master behind the puppets of Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway. Disney’s Hercules will be performed in the Walt Disney Theater aboard the Disney Destiny when the ship takes to sea later this year. Already, music has been recorded for the show. The ship is themed to Heroes and Villains and will be packed with different experiences that will showcase that theme.
Disney Destiny
The Disney Destiny’s maiden voyage is on November 20, 2025. The ship will sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The four-night voyage will make stops at both of Disney Cruise Line’s island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Following the maiden voyage, the Disney Destiny will be sailing on four- or five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean with a stop at one of these two island destinations.
When guests cruise aboard the Disney Destiny, along with Disney’s Hercules, they will get to experience other new offerings, including Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, Cafe Megara, De Vil’s, Edna Á La Mode Sweets, The Sanctum, Cask and Cannon, and a whole lot more!
