The Walt Disney Birthplace is hosting an event at Walt Disney’s Storybook Home to raise funds. Over the weekend of August 22-23, 2025, Disney fans will have the opportunity to visit Walt Disney’s Storybook Woking Way estate, where Walt Disney once lived while he dreamed and created beloved stories that continue to be adored by fans today.
The house was built by Walt and Lillian Disney at 4053 Woking Way in Los Feliz, Los Angeles, in 1932. This is the home where they raised their daughter and built a family life together. They continued to live there until 1950, when they moved to their home on Carolwood Drive.
The house is 6,300 square feet and originally sat on a lot of nearly 1.5 acres. Walt Disney converted one of the bedrooms into a private screening room after living there for a couple of years. This allowed him to view studio dailies from the comfort of home. It also became a spot for friends and family to come together and watch the latest films.
Walt Disney Birthplace is the home in Chicago, Illinois, that Elias Disney built and where Walt Disney was born. Today, the Walt Disney Birthplace envisions “a world where Walt’s personal story inspires children and communities around the globe.” More information about the Walt Disney Birthplace can be found at TheWaltDisneyBirthplace.org.
