On this day in 1955, Cast Member and Disney Legend Tom Nabbe started work at the brand-new Disneyland Park. At 12 years old he was a Newsie, selling ‘The Disneyland News’ for 10 cents per copy to guests waiting to enter the park. Eventually, he convinced Walt Disney to hire him as the first Tom Sawyer on Tom Sawyer Island! Nabbe rose through the company for 48 years, becoming a manager and then helping to open the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Euro Disney. [70 years ago in 2025]
