The Fantastic Four: First Steps

‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Earns Most in Previews at 2025 Box Office

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is off to a strong start at the box office. In previews, it earned the most of any movie this year with $24.4 million. This surpasses the previous strongest movie of the year, Superman, with its $22.5 million.

The newest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could earn between $100 million and $110 million during its opening weekend. Some are predicting that those numbers could be even higher. Internationally, the film is expected to bring in an additional $90 million to $100 million. This could see the film earn somewhere between $190 million and $210 million globally for its opening weekend.

The strength of The Fantastic Four: First Steps is a welcome one for Marvel Studios and its parent company, The Walt Disney Company. Earlier this year, Captain America: Brave New World made only $12 million in previews and had an $88.5 million opening. Thunderbolts* earned $11.5 million in previews and then $76 million during its opening weekend. Neither of these films ended up being the financial successes that had been hoped for. Marvel is hoping that The Fantastic Four will change this trend. The studio has also said that moving forward, it is focusing on quality over quantity. This will mean fewer streaming shows and films.
