Storybook Land Canal Boats and Casey Jr. Circus Train Close For Refurbishment at Disneyland

Guests visiting Disneyland on Monday, July 28, 2025, discovered that the Storybook Land Canal Boats and the Casey Jr. Circus Train were both closed for refurbishment. This is no surprise that both would be closed at the same time, as they share the same footprint and intertwine with each other. It is unknown if there will be any changes to the attraction or just some maintenance done during this closure. It also isn’t known when the two attractions will reopen.

Daps Magic team member Steven stopped by Disneyland on Monday and took the following photos and video of both attractions. As can be seen in his photos and video, they are both behind walls, and work is already underway. Check out the photos here:

Both of these attractions allow fans to experience Disney stories in miniature as they cruise around the area aboard either a canal boat or a circus train. The Casey Jr. Circus Train opened at Disneyland on July 31, 1955. Storybook Land Canal Boats opened on July 17, 1955, with the opening of Disneyland, 70 years ago.

The temporary closure of both of these attractions comes as Disneyland celebrates its 70th anniversary. Daps Magic’s full coverage of this milestone can be found at DapsMagic.com/Disneyland70.
