On this day in 1945, visual effects supervisor and matte painter Harrison Ellenshaw was born. He began his career at Walt Disney Studios as a matte artist in the footsteps of his father, Peter Ellenshaw. Harrison worked on 1970s classics like ‘The Shaggy D.A.’ and ‘Pete’s Dragon.’ At Industrial Light & Magic, he worked on the first two ‘Star Wars’ films. Harrison later headed up Buena Vista Visual Effects, where he became the first credited visual effects supervisor for ‘Tron.’ [80 years ago in 2025]
