On this day in 1955, workers put the finishing touches on several attractions at Disneyland three days before its media debut on July 17. The Casey Jr. Circus Train nearly tipped backward in a test run up the hill. Lead weights were added to the front of the train so it could run for the grand opening. The attraction was closed for two weeks to reduce the grade of the hill. In Tomorrowland, a worker installed the pointed tip of the Moonliner Rocket while suspended 76 feet high on a crane.
