On July 17, 2025, thousands of guests could be seen waiting along the parade route in anticipation of celebrating the 70th birthday of Disneyland. The official celebration took place at 1:30 PM with a cavalcade that began at it’s a small world and then made its way through the park. Along the way, there were stops near it’s a small world, on Main Street, U.S.A., and also in Town Square.
The cavalcade included Mickey Mouse and many other Disney friends, two opening day Disneyland cast members who were hired by Walt Disney, and a Make-A-Wish kid. The cast members from 1955 were Tom Nabbe and Benfield. Tom Nabbe was the original Tom Sawyer and Tom Nabbe founded the alumni club. The Make-A-Wish-Kid was Madison, who also is Disney’s 170,000 wish! At each stop, Walt Disney’s opening day dedication speech was played and then the Disneyland Band led the crowd in singing Happy Birthday! Below is a look at the cavalcade as experienced from the Daps Magic team in Town Square. Later in the day, we will have an extended video with views of all three stops. There will also be more photos from the cavalcade shared in a separate post as well.
