On this day in 2005, legendary Disney songwriters Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Their body of work spans almost 50 years and comprises some of Disney’s most memorable tunes. In the parks, these include “It’s A Small World,” “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow,” and “The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room.” For stage and screen, some favorite Sherman soundtracks are “Mary Poppins,” “Winnie the Pooh,” and “The Aristocats.” [20 years ago in 2025]
