A Southern California tradition returns this August to the Hollywood Bowl, Maestro of the Movies: Celebrating the Music of John Williams will be presented for three days, August 22 – August 24, 2025. This will be three nights with the music of John Williams being performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. David Newman will be conducting the orchestra for these concerts.
In recent years, John Williams has conducted half of the concert after David Newman conducted the first half. However, the legendary composer/conductor appears to be backing away from conducting concerts now. Williams is now 93 years old. Here is a look at him conducting at this concert several years ago:

- Helena’s Theme – Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

- Dear Basketball
- The Adventures of Han – Solo: A Star Wars Story
- Princess Leia’s Theme – Star Wars: A New Hope
- Throne Room and Finale – Star Wars: A New Hope
