Hong Kong Disneyland kicked off its 20th anniversary celebration, also known as The Most Magical Party of All, on June 28, 2025. In a special day filled with magical moments, memories were made that will last a lifetime for those in attendance.
The official kick-off began with Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Jill Estorino, President and Managing Director of Disney Parks International, being joined by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse for a special moment. Mickey and Minnie were both wearing their 20th anniversary parade outfits for this “20th Anniversary Magical Party Kick-off Ceremony.”
“For the last two decades, this magical resort has become not only a beloved destination for local, Mainland and international guests, but also place where stories come alive and dreams take flight. It has captured the hearts of millions, young and old, and become an enduring symbol of joy, creativity and imagination,” said Chan.
“To keep strengthening the appeal of Hong Kong Disneyland, we look beyond the Resort’s gates. More collaboration, more diverse offerings, and more creative partnerships with communities and businesses to create a more immersive and enriched experience for visitors coming to Hong Kong,” he continued.
“Disney is known around the world for exceptional storytelling, and Hong Kong Disneyland is a shining reflection of that,” said Estorino. “I am so proud of how the resort has woven itself into the fabric of this community. It has become the tourism flagship, the largest employer in the tourism and family entertainment industry, and a source of happiness for so many. We look forward to a bright and bold future for Hong Kong Disneyland.”
Also at the ceremony were Rosanna Law, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Peter Lam, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and Michael Moriarty, Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland.
Following the ceremony, the honored guests were treated to a performance of Friendtastic! This is the largest parade to ever make its way through Hong Kong Disneyland. Honored guests included key stakeholders, media representatives, celebrities, and content creators from across the region, including Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and the United States.
“For 20 years, we’ve made a positive impact on the economy and community as the city’s flagship tourist destination. When you think of what to do in Hong Kong, ‘go to Disneyland’ is always one of the top recommendations,” said Moriarty. “As we reflect on our journey, we celebrate the spirit of togetherness that Hong Kong Disneyland fosters, making our city a happier and more welcoming place. Our future is limitless, and we cannot wait to write many more chapters in Hong Kong.”
Disney shared that this milestone is a testament to the collaboration between Disney and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The 20th anniversary demonstrates the commitment that Hong Kong Disneyland has to continuing to offer exceptional experiences to its guests. There are many more exciting things on the horizon. This includes Marvel-themed experiences and a brand-new Pixar entertainment offering.
