On June 17, 2025, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point celebrated its first anniversary. Since opening, fans have been delighted by its beautiful views and magical offerings. This includes Johnny, who shared about his experience visiting there on a recent episode of Daps Travels (the Podcast). As part of the one-year anniversary celebration, Disney has shared five can’t-miss things to do at Lookout Cay. Check them out here:
Rush! A Junkanoo Celebration at Disney Lookout Cay
Junkanoo is a favorite Bahamian tradition, so it is no surprise that the first recommendation is Rush! A Junkanoo Celebration. Junkanoo is the signature festival of The Bahamas filled with singing, dancing and drumming, which makes it the perfect way to kick off a day celebrating the spirit and culture of The Bahamas with a touch of Disney magic.
Nature Trail
Take in the crystal blue waters and nature like a pro, bike or walk the beautiful Nature Trail. Whether you’re taking a quiet stroll or exploring with family, the Nature Trail places you in the middle of postcard-worthy views. Catch a glimpse of the historic light station or learn about the wildlife that calls Eleuthera home, including curly-tailed lizards and the money bat moth.
Serenity Bay
A day at Disney Lookout Cay is not complete without relaxation, good food and great music at Serenity Bay. Don’t miss Essence Band, a traditional rake-and-scape band that adds a distinctly Bahamian twist to fan-favorite Disney tunes.
Art and Shopping
All around Disney Lookout Cay, colorful artwork created by local artists is on display . Be sure to check out all the vibrant artwork and designs — from the wood carvings on exterior doors and paintings of Eleuthera’s landscapes at the Goombay Cultural Center and cabanas to colorful murals and land- and sea-inspired art in the dining pavilions. Don’t forget to stop by Treasures of Eleuthera for locally made artisan crafts.
Visit Mickey and Friends
The final stop is snapping a photo with Mickey Mouse and the Mickey Junkanoo-inspired backdrop! Mickey and friends can be found throughout the destination in their colorful looks designed by local Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett.
Along with the activities that are listed above, there is also a way to celebrate from home. This can be done by watching National Geographic Magic of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. This can be watched on Disney+, Hulu, or even Youtube! This gives a behind-the-scenes look at how this beautiful destination came to life.
