On July 17th, the story of Walt Disney will be told in cinematic fashion at the Main Street Opera House at Disneyland. This will be achieved through a new show at the Opera House, titled Walt Disney – A Magical Life. Ahead of the show’s arrival, a new marquee has been installed above the entrance to the Opera House.

The new marquee says, “Opera House now featuring two dramatic theater presentations!” On the left side of the sign is the new show, Walt Disney – A Magical Life. The right side has Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, which will be shown in rotation with the other show after its initial run. This marks the first time that the Main Street Opera House sign showcases two titles. When the shows run in rotation, it will be the first time the Opera House has done this as well.

Walt Disney – A Magical Life will take guests on a cinematic journey of Walt Disney’s life. It will begin with Walt’s early endeavors, his journey to Los Angeles, and beyond. Finally, the curtain will rise, revealing Walt Disney in Audio-Animatronic form in his office. Through the magic of this technology that Walt Disney himself helped pioneer, Walt will share some heartfelt stories and words of wisdom.
As guests enter and exit this new show at the Opera House on July 17th, they will also be able to see new exhibits about Walt Disney, Audio-Animatronics, and Disneyland’s past, present, and future. July 17th will also see the debut of the 3rd verse to it’s a small world along with a new tribute to the Sherman Brothers in the Main Street Cinema.
