On this day in 1940, Daisy Duck made her official debut in the short ‘Mr. Duck Steps Out.’ The short depicts Donald’s first date with Daisy and establishes her as Donald’s permanent love interest. Daisy’s voice in this first outing was performed by Clarence Nash as a “duck” voice, but was later dubbed by June Foray to be more ladylike. Daisy is known for her sophistication and intelligence. She has appeared in 15 films and 12 Donald Duck shorts and is one of the “Sensational Six.” [85 years ago in 2025]
