On this day in 1975, America on Parade premiered in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, with a second version beginning at Disneyland later that month. The parade honored the United States Bicentennial. It told the story of America’s history, culture, and achievements through floats and costumes that included oversized heads. It featured American popular songs orchestrated with synthesizers and antique carousel organs, as well as “The Glorious Fourth” by the Sherman Brothers. [50 years ago in 2025]
