Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away

With Opening of Disney Starlight, Annual Passholders Will Be Required to Make Reservations to Enter Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World Resort has announced that Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away will be debuting at the Magic Kingdom on July 20, 2025. With this debut and the expected demand it will bring, the ability for Annual Passholders to enter Magic Kingdom after 2:00 PM without a reservation is being discontinued. This means that Annual Passholders will be required to have a park reservation for any day they wish to visit Magic Kingdom. This new policy will not apply to the other theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort.

Ahead of the arrival of the parade, Disney added this to the Walt Disney World website:

Make a Theme Park Reservation… Then Enjoy the Show!
Due to anticipated high demand, for a limited time upon the opening of this new parade on July 20, 2025, Annual Passholders visiting Magic Kingdom park at any time of day (including after 2:00 PM) must have a theme park reservation. Passholders will continue to be able to enter EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park after 2:00 PM without a theme park reservation.

Before July 20, 2025, Annual Passholders may visit the theme parks without a theme park reservation on a good-to-go day or after 2:00 PM (except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom park). Theme park reservations are limited and subject to availability, and reservation requirements are subject to change. Applicable blockout dates apply.

The all-new nighttime parade, “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away,” will debut on July 20, 2025, at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Swirling ribbons of starlight reveal Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck leading a procession of Disney moments that includes Snow White and Dopey in a twinkling minecar, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider floating toward a gleaming lantern on their boat, and Aladdin and Jasmine taking a magic carpet ride, all brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy. Here is the official description for Disney Starlight:

Through the power of the Blue Fairy’s magic, guests will watch dreams and wishes come true throughout this star-kissed parade. As the lights dance from float to float, guests will see favorite classic and contemporary characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Disney Pixar films – some for the very first time in a Disney Live Entertainment nighttime parade.

At the heart of the parade is a new original theme that blends a majestic musical score with classic melodies from beloved Disney animated films. Guests can look forward to seeing beloved Disney characters throughout the parade in shining, shimmering splendor, all culminating in the parade’s finale. A whimsical train, inspired by the iconic Main Street Electrical Parade float, emerges to take dreamers of all ages on a ride through the stars.

Closing out the celebration are the original dreamers, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, draped in sparkling new looks. Together, the duo sends us off, reminding us to believe in the power of wishing upon a star.
