On this day in 1985, sitting U.S. President Ronald Reagan visited EPCOT to observe his second Inaugural Parade. The weather in Washington D.C. was too severe on Inauguration Day in January that year, so the Inaugural Bands Parade could not take place. In a historical first, the Parade was moved to the American Adventure Showcase on Memorial Day. Corporate sponsors offset costs so that 4,000 high school band members could perform along the 1.2 mile route. [40 years ago in 2025]
