WALL-E at Pixar Place Hotel on Earth Day!

WALL-E Arrives at Pixar Place Hotel for Earth Day!

In a wonderfully animated and physical reminder of the importance of taking care of our planet, WALL-E stopped by the Pixar Place Hotel at Disneyland Resort for Earth Day. The robot rolled into the lobby at around 9:00 AM as guests gasped and many could be heard saying “Hi WALL-E!” The live-sized robot replied by saying his own name.

The Daps Magic team was on hand for this very special arrival. Below are video and photos of WALL-E’s first moments at Pixar Place Hotel.

Throughout his time in the lobby, people could be seen excitedly pointing, waving, saying hi, and being completely charmed by the arrival of this lovable robot. This was true for people of all ages. Little kids were excited. Dads were excited. Everyone was excited. It truly was a magical moment.

Released in 2008, WALL-E tells the story about WALL-E, which is short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class. He is the last robot left on Earth. Each day, he tidies up the plant, one piece of garbage at a time. Throughout the course of 700 years of doing this, he has developed a personality and also happens to be a bit lonely. When he spots EVE, a sleek and shapley probe that was sent to Earth on a scanning mission, WALL-E is smitten. He then embarks on an adventure and follows EVE across the galaxy. The film is a beautiful love story with a message of conservation.

Generally guests meet Bing Bong when they visit the Pixar place Hotel. Today, however, meeting WALL-E made for a magical and unique experience. WALL-E didn’t just bring added magic to this hotel. He also brought a good reminder that we need to take care of our planet so his movie doesn’t end up being prophetic.

It also should be noted, the cast members who were working around and assisting WALL-E at Pixar place Hotel deserve an extra hat tip. They spent time making sure that each meeting was a magical one. I saw great care to make for a happy and fun meeting for each guest. There were a lot of smiles in the lobby of the Pixar Place Hotel thanks to their hard work. I especially want to recognize the cast members who kneeled down for a young blind girl and spent extra time and effort to make it the most magical meeting ever. The acts of kindness I saw in the lobby of the Pixar Place Hotel today are what makes Disney magical and also what can make the world a better place!

The arrival of WALL-E at the Disneyland Resort for Earth Day was a magical gift for those who were able to meet him. The magic is in the moments and these moments were some of the best!
