New Earl of Sandwich Takes Shape in Downtown Disney District

The Earl of Sandwich will soon have a new home in the Downtown Disney District. The current locations at either end of the district are temporary. The permanent home for this restaurant will be on the west end of the district near The D-Lander Shop.

Work has been going on to build the new location for Earl of Sandwich. This new location will have two stories. The first floor of the new Earl of Sandwich will be what fans have known and loved since the restaurant first opened in the Downtown Disney District in 2012. This is where guests can get favorite sandwiches like The Original 1762, The Full Montagu, or the Holiday Turkey. There will also be hand-crafted wraps, salads, and sweets on hand as well.

Upstairs will be the home of The Carnaby Tavern. This will offer a table service experience for guests that is inspired by the ’60s “British Invasion” pop and rock bands from the U.K. There will be both indoor seating and patio seating, along with an indoor/outdoor full-service bar.

The above concept art shows what the new Earl of Sandwich will look like. Daps Magic team member Steven stopped by earlier this week to see what the future home of Earl of Sandwich looks like currently. The building has gone vertical, and the shape of what it will look like when complete can be seen.

The current Earl of Sandwich, at the entrance to the Esplanade, is scheduled to close sometime in 2025 to make way for Porto’s. An exact closing date has not been announced yet. Opening dates have also not been announced for the new Earl of Sandwich or Porto’s.
