The Disney Destiny will be the newest ship to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet when it goes on its inaugural voyage on November 20, 2025. This ship will feature a theme of “Heroes and Villains.” Part of this theme was revealed this morning at a special event highlighting the upcoming features and experiences of the Disney Destiny. This morning, some of the villainous experiences that will be experienced aboard the Disney Destiny were shared. Check out what is coming below!
Grand Hall
Things will get started in the Grand Hall. There, as throughout the ship, guests will see and be immersed in the epic duality of good and evil. The environment of the Grand Hall will transform throughout the cruise! The Disney Cruise Line revealed concept art that showcases this new space. Look closely, and you might see some teasers of what will be experienced aboard this incredible ship.
As can be seen and deduced by looking at the concept art, the Grand Hall will be inspired by Marvel Studios’ Black Panther. This will transport guests into the world of heroes and villains from the moment they step on board the ship. For most of the day, the Grand Hall will have a bright and optimistic energy, a hero’s welcome. However, this could change at any moment and morph into a mythical realm of mystery.
The Grand Hall will include 360-degree lighting effects to fill the room with life and color. This ever-changing space will react to the presence of certain characters. The room will take on the signature aura of some legendary villains, rogues, and mischief makers of Disney and Marvel lore.
One of the transformations will happen with the arrival of Loki. This fan-favorite character will be intent on clearing his name with the mortals of Midgard. Loki will also attempt to declare that he is the ruler of the vessel and the occupants aboard it.
As should be no surprise with the infamous ego and affinity for chaos-making, Loki could turn up with a grand proclamation of his glorious purpose or dubious retelling of a well-known story. Of course, since it is Loki, he will show off his penchant for rewriting history. The God of Mischief might also recruit some unsuspecting guests for a surprise competition to prove their adoration of his royal highness. He might also command them to explain some of the strange rituals that are found aboard the cruise ship (i.e., all you can eat soft serve might be something this Asgardian might not be aware of but might love).
Cruella de Vil
Cruella de Vil will also be featured prominently aboard the Disney Destiny. She will be one of the multiple villains that guests will get to interact with while on their cruise.
As shared before, Cruella de Vil will be the inspiration for a piano bar. She will also be at two brand new entertainment experiences aboard the ship as well.
First off, there will be an opportunity for fashion-forward cruisers to put their own personal style to the test on Cruella’s wretched runway. For this experience, Cruella will provide live commentary, this could be very good or very bad. Of course, when she hears the Cruella de Vil song (which she feels is completely wrong), Cruella may end up recruiting guests to make their own more flattering musical tribute to this queen.
Dr. Facilier
Dr. Facilier could also be found aboard the Disney Destiny. Guests can be entertained by the swindles and scams of this playfully sinister practitioner of the macabre. He may be found lurking around the Grand Hall with a few parlor tricks or sleights of hand. Guests will be able to join him for a game of chance with nothing to lose.
Maleficent
As was seen at the preview event this morning, Maleficent will also be holding court aboard the Disney Destiny. She could be found at the Saga entertainment lounge. This will be up to each individual if they want to witness her magical prowess from a distance or dare to approach the mistress of all evil for an up-close and personal demonstration.
