A host of new virtual series of races have been announced by runDisney. There are three 5K races included in this series. A Pirates of the Caribbean-themed 5K, a Jungle Cruise-themed 5K, and a Big Thunder Mountain Railroad-themed 5K. There is also the option to participate in the Disney Happily Ever After Challenge, which involves completing all three of the aforementioned races. Registration for them all begins on April 1, 2025, and the actual events run from June 1 through August 31, 2025. Check out the specifics for all of these virtual races here:
Virtual 5K: Disney Pirates of the Caribbean
Completion Timeframe: June 1 to August 31, 2025
Pillage and plunder (or run, jog or walk) your way through 3.1 miles of swashbuckling fun.

Virtual Event Policies
Here are the official policies for runDisney virtual events.
Registration
- Entry fees for the runDisney Virtual Series events are non-refundable and include a separate processing fee.
- Disney reserves the right to revoke any registration for any race for any reason in its sole discretion with refund of any applicable registration fees being the sole remedy of any such refusal and/or revocation.
- All races are non-transferable between individuals, between event weekends and to events that have reached capacity/sold out.
Medals
Please note this event is open to residents of the U.S. and U.S. Territories only, and medals may only be shipped to addresses within these regions.
Registered runDisney Virtual Series participants will receive their commemorative medal in the mail at the physical address they submit during the event registration process. Medals will be shipped at the conclusion of the event completion timeframe. Please note that your medal cannot be shipped to a PO Box or APO Box, and after three attempts to deliver your medal to the address provided, no additional attempts will be made. All attempts to deliver medals for this event will conclude at the end of the calendar year.
Eligibility
All members of the family are encouraged to participate as long as each member is eligible for the particular racing event, as follows:
- All participants for a 5K distance must be 5 years of age or older on race day and must be able to complete the 5K on their own.
- Participants for the Virtual Challenge: Disney Happily Ever After must be 5 years of age or older.
Virtual Race Times
Participants track their own times, and completion is based on the honor system. Once you complete your run, visit the finisher website to submit your finish time and download your race certificate.
